U2IDE31S is a USB 2.0 to IDE (ATA/ATAPI) Bridge Board

It is ideally suitable for tailgating removable-media devices such as CD-ROM, CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-ROM, DVD-RAM, tape drive, and hard disk drive. It allows IDE drives (master and slave) to be connected to USB 2.0 serial bus.

Both ATA and ATAPI devices are supported with the same firmware.

RAID Function (Spanning):
By spanning technique, U2IDE31S integrates two HDDs into a big drive.

U2IDE31S is a low cost hardware RAID Bridge Board for two PATA HDDs. A true hardware solution, U2IDE31S requires no software to be installed on your machine.

• Desktop PC: with either a built-in USB (1.0 or 2.0) controller or an USB (1.0 or 2.0) to PCI Host Adapter equipped with an external USB port.
• Laptop PC: with either a built-in USB (1.0 or 2.0) controller or an USB (1.0 or 2.0) to CardBus PC Card equipped with an external USB port.
