FWEIDE525D-D1 is a FireWire (1394a) to ATAPI dual 5.25" bay enclosure for CD/DVD duplcation application. It is designed to have the function of stand-alone CD/DVD duplicator and and as a PC FireWire-to-IDE enclosure. Duplication mode or PC peripheral mode is set automatically when power is ON:

• if no computer is connected, the duplication mode is the default setting;
• if a computer is connected, the PC peripheral mode becomes the default setting.

Switching from duplication mode to PC peripheral mode is done automatically when connecting the FireWire cable to a computer.

PC peripheral mode:

FWEIDE525D-D1 is ideally suited to tailgate interface applications for optical drives CD/DVD-ROM, CD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW , DVD-R/RW. It allows ATAPI drives to be connected to FireWire (IEEE 1394a) serial bus in a plug-and-play fashion. It also provides a perfect solution for data backup and transferring of data between computers using ATAPI devices.

Stand-alone CD/DVD duplicator mode:

• Starts duplicating operation automatically by closing the tray of target drive.
• Provide one Mode Switch Button on the Front Panel for changing the mode.
• Provide one dual color (Green and Red Color) Mode LED to display the mode condition.
• Provide three Red Color status LEDs for Error Code display.
• Provide three Green Color status LEDs for Duplication Percentage display.
• When on PC peripheral mode, Mode Switch Button, Mode LED and Status LEDs will not function.
