FireWire (IEEE 1394a) to IDE (ATAPI) 5.25" enclosure with peer to peer (stand-alone) DVD/CD duplicator function

FWEIDE525-A1 is ideally suited for tailgate interface applications for removable-media drives CD-ROM, CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-ROM, DVD-RAM, DVD-RW, DVD+RW. It allows IDE drives (Master or Slave) to be connected to FireWire (IEEE 1394a) serial bus in a plug-and-play fashion.

FWEIDE525-A1 allows users to easily hot-swap IDE drive without interrupting the current operation. FWEIDE525-A1 provides the perfect solution for data backup and transfering of data between computers using IDE (ATAPI) devices. FWEIDE525-A1 provides peer to peer (stand-alone) DVD/CD duplicator function through FireWire (IEEE 1394a) serial bus connection.

FWEIDE525-A1 combines four key components:

1). FireWire (IEEE 1394a) to IDE (ATAPI) Bridge Board:

• Complies with T13's ATA/ATAPI-6 Draft Specification:
  • DMA Mode 0-2
  • Ultra DMA Mode 2, 4, 5

2). Plastic Bondi and Foot Stand Holder

• Universal Outer Plastic Bondi
  • Top and Bottom are the same
  • Provide one standard 5.25" device bay
  • Easy of assembly and disassembly
• Provide Universal Foot Stand Holder (4pcs) with colorful foot pad
  • To bind the Top and Bottom Plastic Bondi closely
  • Let FWEIDE525-A1 can stand either horizontally or vertically.

3). Metal Chassis

• Top and bottom bracket design provide good shielding for EMI prevention.
• Less metal means less weight and less cost
• Easy to install the IDE device
• The bottom metal chassis provide the screw hole for 5.25" IDE devices.
• Built-in 40x40 mm cooling fan
• Provide one RCA Jack
• Provide Power Switch on the rear panel.
