FWEIDE525Q-MR4 has two IOI-1394R4 (4-Port FireWire repeater) in the rear panel. Each IOI-1394R4 connects to two FireWire mobile racks. It can also connect to a FireWire host controller (IOI-4601-21 or IOI-4601-21 suggested) to increase the data transfer speed. Or, both IOI-1394R4 can be connected to each other externally using a FireWire cable.

FWEIDE525Q-MR4 provides peripheral vendors a unique opportunity to continuously take advantage of the ATA/ATAPI economies of scale while presenting peripherals into the rapidly expanding 1394/FireWire markets.
