FWBEIDE525D-1 is ideally suited for tailgate interface applications for removable-media drives - CD-ROM, CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-ROM, DVD-RAM, tape drive, and hard disk drive.
It allows IDE drives (Master and Slave) to be connected to FireWire (IEEE 1394) serial bus in a plug-and-play fashion.

FWBEIDE525D-1 allows users to easily hot-swap IDE drive without interrupting the current operation. FWBEIDE525D-1 provides the perfect solution for data backup and transferring of data between computers using IDE (ATA/ATAPI) devices.

FWBEIDE525D-1 combines two key components:
