Introduction

The S3-PCIE1XG201-I is a SATA III (6 Gbps) and PATA to PCI Express x1 Gen2 Host Card.

The S3-PCIE1XG201-I provides both SATA and ATA/ATAPI functions. It supplies two 6 Gbps SATA ports and one PATA port.

The S3-PCIE1XG201-I brings a high-performance 3 or 6 Gbps SATA and PATA hardware RAID solution to desktop/consumer storage applications utilizing a 1-lane PCI Express 2.0 interface. The S3-PCIE1XG201-I supports devices compliant with the Serial ATA International Organization: Serial ATA Revision 3.0 specification and the ATA/ATAPI-7 specification.

S3-PCIE1XG201-I supports a high reliable and extremely fast variety of storage applications (RAID 0, 1 and JBOD).

    Note:
    For the best performance (5.0 Gbps), S3-PCIE1XG201-I should be installed in a PCIe Gen 2 compliant slot in the host computer.  Most computers have PCIe Gen 2 (5.0 Gbps) throughput on x8 or x16 slots.
    A PCIe Gen 1 compliant slot reaches up to 2.5 Gbps throughput.
