| Introduction |
| QIP4X-PCIE16XB01 is Internal PCIe (two SFF-8643 72pin) PCI Express x16 Bifurcation Riser Card. PCI Express bifurcation means splitting the PCI Express bus into smaller multi-slots . For example, one x16 PCI-Express Port can be bifurcated into two x8 PCI-Express Ports, each of which can be further bifurcated into two x4 PCI-Express Ports, and so on. This can be achieved from BIOS level if you want to split an existing lane. The PCI-Express Bifurcation mode allows users to take advantage of a single PCI-Express x16 slot, through the use of QIP4X-PCIE16XB01, and transform their PCI-Express slot into the following modes:
