Introduction

U2FW-ATAMR31 is an USB 2.0 & FireWire (1394a) to ATA Mobile Rack designed to enable hot-swap, plug-and-play operation for 3.5" hard disk drive (ATA) through the connection to USB 2.0 & FireWire (1394a) interface which is installed on a computer. U2FW-ATAMR31 allows users to easily hot-swap 3.5" hard disk drive that is mounted in the Mobile Rack without interrupting the current operation. U2FW-ATAMR31 provides the perfect solution for data backup and transferring of data between computers using hard disk drives.

    U2FW-ATAMR31 combines two key components:
     1). USB 2.0 & FireWire (1394a) to ATA Bridge Board

    1). USB 2.0 & FireWire (1394a) to ATA Bridge Board:

    • USB 2.0 and FireWire (IEEE 1394) arbitration: Auto-Switch by detecting USB bus power
    • USB Mass Storage Class Bulk-Only specification-compliant (Version 1.0)
    • USB 2.0 Interface: JST 5pin (pitch = 2.0 mm) compatible connector
    • USB Bus Transfer Rate: High Speed (480 Mbit) or Full Speed (12 Mbit)
    • IEEE Std 1394-1995 and IEEE 1394a-2000 Compliant
    • Implements 1394a SBP-2 stack engine to optimize the performance
    • Texas Instrument TSB41AB2 1394a 400Mbps PHY.
    • Support Asynchronous Transfers at S100, S200 and S400 Mb/s for 1394a.
    • FireWire (IEEE 1394) Interface: Two FireWire 6pin connector
    • Complies with T13 1410D ATA/ATAPI-6 Draft Specification:
      • DMA Mode 0 ~ 2
      • Ultra DMA Mode 2, 4, 5
      • Supports 48-bit addressing for large hard drives (>128GB).
    • Provide Power indicator LED and HDD Access LED
    • DC Power Input: Big IDE 4pin Power connector

    • Frame of U2FW-ATAMR31 designed to fit the standard dimension of 5.25" device bay of the computer case
    • Inner HDD tray provides screw holes for 3.5" SATA/ATA HDD
    • Inner HDD tray and mounting frame made by aluminum: good for heat dissipation
    • Easy-to-Eject pull handle with miniature key lock
    • Key lock + Power Switch allow U2FW-ATAMR31 Hot-swappable
